Join us for an exclusive group tour of the 1925 Neutral Bay home of Australia’s beloved children’s book author and illustrator May Gibbs (1877-1969).
The visit includes the house museum, the native gardens and the creative studio where Snugglepot and Cuddlepie came to life.
We will learn about May’s life as an immigrant child, her art studies and how she became a celebrated author and illustrator creating the Gumnut stories.
We will also hear about the noted architect B. J. Waterhouse who designed Nutcote. MHS President Scott MacArthur, another architect, was involved in the restoration of the house.
