Secrets of Anzac Ridge

A talk by Patricia Skehan

When: Saturday 28 February 2026. 10 am for 10.30 am start.

Where: Learning Rooms, Level 1, Marrickville Library Pavilion, Corner Marrickville & Livingstone Roads, Marrickville.

What do letters, dated 1919, from Ethel Turner’s daughter Jean, a young nurse at Rivendell Emergency Hospital in Concord, and the unpublished diary for the last surviving WWI war veteran on the Central Coast, have to do with Sir John Monash’s secret headquarters at Anzac Ridge in Flanders 1917?

This amazing story is told in Patricia Skehan’s latest book, The Secrets of Anzac Ridge in Flanders Fields, shortlisted by the National Trust in 2025 for Heritage Book of the Year.

Patricia Skehan is an author and historian, and a founding member of Concord Heritage Society. Join us for the presentation about her book to be accompanied by war posters and a photographic display.
